I turned Spirit and Rosie out for a first time yesterday. They had no problems at all.

I don't think that Rosie had ever seen a cow before. I'm not sure why there was just one cow in the next door pasture but I'm glad she only had to deal with one. She stared at it for a long time and then would run away. Then she'd sneak back towards it and start staring again. She's going to be shocked the first time she sees the whole herd. From left to right - Spirit, Rosie (staring at cow), Nugget the neighbor horse, and the cow. Note how worried the "been there, done that" old horses are about the cow.

Today I took my mom to see Prize. The last time she saw her was on the first day she was cantered under saddle. We were going to show off her huge improvement. So of course she was a jerk. We interrupted her breakfast and she had an attitude. Here she is waiting to get ridden. I hate putting on that western saddle. It's so heavy compared to my English one.

My mom took at picture of me riding her. I thought about posting it but her frame isn't good and I look like a fat slob. I tried blaming it on light colored pants with a dark sweatshirt in a dark picture. My mother paused a bit too long before saying, "I'm sure its an optical illusion, dear." Yeah, I'm definately going back on the diet.
